The University of Amsterdam has its origins in the Athenaeum Illustre (1632) and, with more than 30,000 students, almost 5,000 employees and an annual budget of almost 500 million euros, is one of the largest general research universities in Europe. This ‘Electronic Fact Book' provides current and detailed facts and figures about the University.
