The Amsterdam Academic Club is the association of the UvA. This inspiring meeting place welcomes all UvA staff, UvA alumni, former staff as well as interested organisations based in the city of Amsterdam.

The monumental and distinctive ‘Onder de Klok’ building houses a bar and a restaurant that are open daily to all members and their guests for lunch, dinner and drinks. Here you can relax seated next to the fireplace with a cup of coffee or glass of wine or work in peace and quiet upstairs in the library where wifi is available. It is also possible to engage the club privately for drinks, dinners, meetings, workshops, debates and symposia.

Each month, the board organises an inspiring evening for club members that is often interactive and which always seeks to bring together the academic world, society and trade and industry. In addition, the club seeks out ways to link with existing activities organised by the UvA and Amsterdam networks, with a view to hosting activities at the club together.

The Amsterdam Academic Club is open daily from 12:00 to 22:00.

Currently only debit card or ‘chipknip’ payments are accepted as well as payments charged to a UvA cost centre.
