Technology Transfer Office

The Technology Transfer Office UvA AMC (Bureau Kennistransfer UvA AMC, BKT UvA AMC) of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is divided into two core teams.

One team focuses on applications for patents, the issue of licences, supervising start‑ups, contract‑based research and innovation grants.
The second team supervises applications for research and education grants.

In addition, the Technology Transfer Office UvA AMC (BKT UvA AMC) offers legal assistance, providing advice on, among other things, the protection of intellectual property, applications for patents and contracts.

Marion Leenen, LLM

At the BKT Marion focuses, among other things, on the preparation of licensing contracts, research agreements and legal matters relating to the start up of companies.

Dr. Elmar de Pauw

Identification and protection of intellectual property

Patents and licences, start ups, contract-based research, innovation grants

Willem Th. Fokkema

Within the Technology Transfer Office, he focuses mainly on looking for commercial partners for those working in life sciences (including assisting in contract negotiations).

Albert Wijnen

As a Technology Transfer Adviser at BKT, Albert is actively involved in the scouting and screening of innovative ideas and findings of UvA research groups.

Research grants

Dr Olga Gritsai

Dr Gritsai has been working as an adviser on research grants at the Technology Transfer Office since Novermber 2011. Her main focus is on EU grants for the social sciences.

Dr Jorrit Kelder

Jorrit Kelder studied Mediterranean Archaeology at the University of Amsterdam, receiving his MA in 2003.

Dr Bea Krenn

Bea has been working as a Research Grants Adviser at the Technology Transfer Office since September 2007.

Maarten Rottschäfer, MSc

Maarten Rottschäfer studied Human Geography at the University of Amsterdam, and worked during this period as a student assistant at both the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences (FMG) and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).

Dr Carolien Zijderveld

Within the Technology Transfer Office, she works as a Research Grants Adviser and is our direct contact point for the organisation of workshops and training courses.

Dr Maren Pannemann

Maren Pannemann has been working as a Research Grants Adviser at the Technology Transfer Office since 2009.
