Technology Transfer must be made to measure
The University of Amsterdam Technology Transfer Office UvA AMC (Bureau Kennistransfer UvA AMC, BKT UvA AMC) provides expert supervision and advice on the successful transfer of knowledge to the business community and society at large. In terms of everyday practice, this means a broad package of services tailored to scientists and other staff. In addition, government institutions and members of the business community can contact the BKT UvA AMC to enhance the scientific foundation of their respective ideas. In other words, the BKT UvA AMC forms the direct link between academia, the business community and government.
A keen eye for intellectual property
The BKT UvA AMC's primary task is the identification, structuring and supervision of opportunities in relation to the market and vice versa. In addition, we have a keen eye for intellectual property. Everything invented in the market or at government institutions for which the BKT UvA AMC works becomes the property of the knowledge institute: the BKT UvA AMC assists in the protection and optimal deployment of this form of capital.
Knowledge transfer
Knowledge begins with the scouting of research and education projects. After screening, a promising project is translated into a case, which, in its turn, can lead to the application for a patent, the issue of a licence, the start‑up of a company and/or contract‑based research.
Grants
Applying for a grant may be the best option for a project that is not yet ready for market launch or for one that concerns the modernisation or expansion of our education or, as the case may be, the deepening of our research or stimulation of the careers of young and/or talented researchers. In such cases, the BKT UvA AMC can assist in securing a grant from the most appropriate provider.
The Team
The BKT UvA AMC team consists of individuals with the expertise to cover all the areas referred to, including the legal aspects involved in the transfer of knowledge and acquisition of grants.
