The PhD Researchers Association (UvApro) is a group of PhD researchers who foster a positive working environment for PhD students at the UvA by answering questions and helping to solve problems. We represent PhD researchers within the university and our activities include negotiating with the Board on issues concerning PhD researchers. We currently have six executive members drawn from the six faculties at the UvA.

We collaborate with associations at other universities within the PhD Network of the Netherlands (Promovendi Netwerk Nederland). This allows us to learn about the structure and organisation of doctoral work at other universities and to form a united front in bringing important issues to the attention of government. We have a newsletter that keeps PhD researchers informed about relevant developments within the university.
